Ranches Primary School (RPS), one of Dubai’s leading community schools, part of Cognita Middle East, is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Emma Ledger, who will take over as the new Principal of the school from August 2023.

Bringing over 20 years of experience to Ranches Primary School, Ms Ledger was most recently the Head Teacher (EYFS & Primary) of The British School of Barcelona (BSB), a Cognita school. Under her leadership, BSB achieved Outstanding in all areas during its BSO Inspection in 2021 and has an enviable reputation for providing world-class international education. Ms Ledger started her career at Stephenson Memorial Primary School, eventually becoming Head Teacher in September 2010. Her priority as Head Teacher was to strengthen the well-being and safeguarding structure throughout the school, which led to improved OFSTED reports and raised achievement standards. She has also supported other schools throughout her career as the Primary Director for North Tyneside Learning Trust, supporting and developing leadership models to improve standards of teaching and learning across the borough, collaborating with 44 other Trust schools.

Mr Pederick has been an integral part of the RPS community, known for his wonderful warmth and spirit that the school is recognised for, and he will undoubtedly be missed by students, parents and staff alike. Most recently, he successfully led the school through its annual KDHA inspection and Mr Pederick can take pride in the outcome, he leaves RPS at a time when it is in a fantastic place, with an incredible SLT team at the helm.”
